Sharing Web Resources

Week 4 Blog Assignment
The specific section within the High Scope website that seems relevant to my current professional development is a section called Professional Development, where it provides information about how to get online training to be a certified teacher, or even how to get certification in the Train on Trainers training.  I am currently in my second year doing the TOT training, hoping to finalize it this coming May 2013.  I like to see information of national conferences to be offered here in Florida.
The website also provides information on how they work closely with head Start to provide better experiences to at risk children.  The following is taken from the website.
Head Start Research
HighScope and Head Start: A Long History
HighScope and Head Start share a long history of providing high-quality services to at-risk children. The Perry Preschool work helped to support the creation of Head Start. Today, it is estimated that one fifth of Head Start programs use the HighScope Curriculum in their preschool classrooms. HighScope has for many years conducted research on the effectiveness of Head Start and on how to further enhance the program through professional development activities.
This website bring important information about recent studies or research conducted in preschool classroom, where they put in practice all the active participatory learning process, proving us that works for children this age.
