Sharing Web Resources

Surfing a little bit more in depth the High Scope organization, I find the Forums section very useful for my professional.  I currently taking the Training of Trainers from High Scope, where we need to practice in a preschool classroom all that we have learned in our learning and reflect how it went and if I would do anything differently.  The Forums is a section where you can share your practice teachers with other colleagues and get feedback from your practice and reflections.  In addition, you also have the opportunity to provide your thoughts and recommendations to other people who are taking the same training.

High Scope has a section about research information.  I like the Hot topics section where it shows all the topics with recent information about what the research demonstrate and the long term results of using high quality programs.  Children who participated from the Perry Pre-School has better jobs, and living better lives than children who did not participate from a prescohol program.

One amazing aspect from the website, is the work they do worldwide to continue demonstrating that children who participate from a high quality preschool program have more changes to live a successful life.
The following is taken from the highscope.org website.

Lifting lives through education in diverse countries and cultures
The goals of the institutes and teacher education centers are to
  • Advance learning environments through HighScope practices that are conducive to the growth and strengthening of open, democratic societies.
  • Maximize the potential of all children and youth regardless of their national, economic, ethnic, racial, religious, or other origins.
  • Promote global understanding and cooperation through the collaboration and networking of members of the HighScope International Registry.
  • Work cooperatively to enhance use of the available staff and other resources.
